Banide: "We Need To Find A Solution"

18 August 2019

Head Coach Laurent Banide opened up again after seeing his side drop to the bottom of the league table.

Despite naming an unchanged line-up after the spirited performance against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup, he saw his side beaten by Bradford City 3-0 to keep his team without a single point after three games in Sky Bet League Two.

"It was a disappointing result and we made a big tactical fault. When you give two goals it's difficult to win."

He added: "So it's difficult for everybody but it's football and we must have a reaction in the next game."

Conceding an early goal to James Vaughan and then after a spell of pressure trying to find the equaliser, Latics gave the home side another gift to extend their lead before the interval and Banide was left frustrated.

"Every time we are in a reaction. We must be in action and we cannot start a game after three minutes, take a goal like that and the second goal like that, it's impossible.

"So after we need to find a solution because we must do something to change that.

"You lose a game because you take two goals in the first-half because you're not concentrating and you make a mistake."

The relentless fixture list continues with the visit of Exeter City to Boundary Park on Tuesday evening and the Head Coach wants the players to step up and get the club out of their early season slump on the pitch.

"After you can cry, you can do what you want, it's too late. So it's difficult because every time we make some mistake, an individual mistake, and everybody must push their level because it's not enough for the moment.

"We must try to push the team and change some players to give another spirit and try."
