Second Chance Academy Launched

13 December 2019

Oldham Athletic Second Chance Academy is an opportunity for players to experience a full-time football and fitness training programme whilst studying a BTEC Level 3 in Sport.

The full-time training programme will help develop players to their full potential, giving them the best chance possible to progress to the highest level they can in Football.

The main aim of 'SCA' is to develop players for Oldham Athletic Football Club, whilst also giving them a qualification to help progress into further education in the future.

During the training programme players will be given individual development plans to help them monitor and see their progression over the two years. This evidence will also help the players to produce Football CV’s.

These plans are reviewed two to three times a year by one-to-one assessments with the players and coach. To do this, players will be coached by UEFA A and UEFA B license coaches on a daily basis whilst also having free access to an onsite gym for fitness and recovery sessions.
