Promotion Race In Focus As EFL Fixtures Selected For Sky Sports Coverage

The race for promotion heats up in all three divisions, with current Championship leaders Leeds United welcoming high-flying Sheffield United to Elland Road on Saturday 16 March. The battle between two of the top three will get underway at 12:30pm.

 

In League One, Portsmouth face a trip to South London against Charlton Athletic at the Valley on Saturday 9 March, while League Two table toppers Lincoln City are in action against Mansfield Town on Monday 18 March at the One Call Stadium.

 

Local rivalries and bragging rights also take centre stage throughout the month, kicking off with the Second City derby as Midlands’ rivals Birmingham City and Aston Villa clash at St Andrews on Sunday 10 March in a midday start.

 

Grant McCann’s Doncaster Rovers host Barnsley in the South-Yorkshire derby in League One in the Friday Night football offering on 15 March, while a return to the Midlands later in the month sees Garry Monk’s Birmingham City side in action once more, this time against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Friday 29 March.

IMPORTANT NOTE
The EFL and broadcast partner Sky Sports have committed to giving Clubs and supporters at least five weeks’ notice ahead of any EFL League matches being selected for live television coverage. 

The EFL has outlined the dates when any changes will be announced to the public via the EFL’s digital and social channels.

A minimum of three weeks’ notice is in place for the penultimate weekend of the season in order to ensure the most appropriate matches are picked for broadcast.
