MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Morecambe

1 February 2019

Oldham Athletic are back at Boundary Park tomorrow when they take on Morecambe in the Sky Bet League Two fixture.

Latics are currently on a run of four games without a game going into Saturday and Pete Wild is hoping to put things right.

“Everyone's desperate to do well, everybody doesn't come into this ground whether you're a fan, a player, or a coach, nobody comes into this ground to lose.” He said.

“What we've got to do now is reflect, we've been in this position before and we've fought our way out of this position before, so we can do it again and it starts Saturday.”

Latics made three signings this past week with Alex Iacovitti, Oladapo Afolayan and Zak Dearnley all in line to make their debuts.

Latics will also have Captain Peter Clarke back from suspension, but Wild may have a selection headache with Jamie Stott impressing on Tuesday night.

As for our opponents, they find themselves locked in another relegation battle as they teeter in 22nd place.

Morecambe have boosted their ranks on deadline day with the signing of Sam Dalby on loan from Leeds United to replace Vadaine Oliver who is out injured.

James Sinclair and Andrew Fleming are also missing through injury.

In the reverse fixture at the Globe Arena, Latics picked up a 0-2 victory thanks to goals from Chris O’Grady and Gevaro Nepomuceno.

The sides have only met once at Boundary Park which was in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in 2008.

Morecambe ran out 5-4 winners on penalties on that occasion after a 1-1 draw.

Oldham Athletic are priced at 4/5 to beat Notts County.

Mike Leyland and Roy Butterworth will be on commentary on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
