Oldham Athletic are back under the lights at Boundary Park as they take on Morecambe in the Sky Bet League Two fixture tonight (7:45pm).
It will be the third home game on the bounce for Latics with Paul Scholes wary of the threat Morecambe will bring tonight.
"They're very similar to both teams we've played, I think they'll be direct, they'll play if they're allowed to play as well.” He said.
“We know that and obviously have a couple of big threats in [Richard] Bennett the centre-forward who's a good player and [Kevin] Ellison's experience who's scored some really good goals.”
Scholes confirmed that both Tom Hamer and Callum Lang will be doubts for tonight’s game to add onto long term injury absentees Dan Gardner and Ousmane Fane.
A win for Latics tonight could potentially take them within three points of the playoff positions.
Our opponents Morecambe currently sit three points above the relegation places, but they come into today’s game full of confidence after grinding a 0-1 win at Port Vale on Saturday.
The Shrimps will be without A-Jay Leitch-Smith and Vadaine Oliver who are long-term injuries.
In the reverse fixture Latics ran out 0-2 winners at the Globe Arena thanks to goals from Chris O’Grady and Gevaro Nepomuceno.
The two teams have never met at Boundary Park in the league.
Oldham Athletic are priced at 8/11 to beat Morecambe.
Mike Leyland, Mike Brown and Roy Butterworth will be on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
Oldham Athletic supporters in the UK will be able to watch this evening’s match live for £10 via iFollow Latics.
