OACT: Getting Ready For The Weekend

25 February 2019

Blackshaw Lane Primary School were joined by Latics players Andy Taylor and Jamie Stott today.

Oldham Athletic defenders Andy Taylor and Jamie Stott visited Blackshaw Lane Primary School, as the school prepares for their 'Play On The Pitch' appearance this Saturday at Boundary Park.

Children from the school will be at the ground when Oldham welcome Stevenage at the weekend, with selected pupils playing on the Boundary Park pitch at half-time.

Andy and Jamie took time after training to make the short journey to meet some of the pupils who will be playing and to offer some advice ahead of their big occasion.

In addition, the pair participated in a PE lesson with years two and three, helping the children to understand the importance of physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.

The visit to Blackshaw Lane, an Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) school partner, was part of the Community Trust's schools programme which sees OACT coaches working within the school on a weekly basis delivering a variety of different lessons.

Currently OACT has 18 local school partners, for more information on the work that they do within local schools or to become a school partner, please email Martin.Vose@oldhamathletic.co.uk.
