MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Tranmere Rovers

15 March 2019

Oldham Athletic are back at Boundary Park as they take on the in-form Tranmere Rovers tomorrow (3pm).

Latics are currently seven without a win and must begin life after Paul Scholes’ resignation yesterday afternoon.

Assistant manager Mick Priest is confident the side can go and get a result against Tranmere on Saturday.

“I think the results this season have shown we can get a result against them, they are the form team in the division that goes without saying.” He said.

"The striker up front James Norwood as well as Connor Jennings are flying high, it's not just those two though they've got a good balance to them.

"But obviously we're going to have to respect Tranmere because of the run they're on, but we certainly won't fear them."

Latics will be without the injured Dapo Afolayan, Giles Coke and Dan Gardner for the game with Tranmere.

Jose Baxter also starts the first of a three-game ban for his red card against Lincoln City.

Tranmere are currently on a run of five wins in the league which has propelled them into fifth place.

Kieron Morris has returned to training for Rovers after missing out the last two games with a groin strain so he can be considered for selection.

With Oldham priced at 13/10 to beat Tranmere Rovers.

Mike Leyland and Roy Butterworth will be on commentary on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
