Latics suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Colchester United at the weekend and Head Coach Laurent Banide gave his thoughts on the game.
Laurent Banide was left a frustrated figure after the defeat against Colchester United and believes his side should have scored a few goals.
“We’re frustrated because I think that we played better than last game, they scored the goal in the 45th minute, so it’s frustrating because we missed a few chances and had a lot of opportunities to score." He said.
“We need to continue, play better and we need to push a level, if we scored one or two goals it would have been better for the team.
“We need to continue because we need to keep our philosophy and try to win games.”
The Head Coach believes that his side paid the price for missed chances throughout the game.
Latics were dominate right up to the Colchester goal, but he also believes that a lack of concentration in that moment cost his side.
“We created four or five chances to score in the first half and we didn’t take the opportunities but that’s football." He commented.
“We need to concentrate at the start of the game and at the end of the game so we need to be careful about that because we paid the price.”
Dylan Fage’s performance caught the eye and Banide was impressed by the versatility of the youngster.
“Dylan Fage worked well, he improved like the others. He has great potential and he can play a lot of positions.
“The players help him because he is young and he has the chance to play with Maouche, Eagles and David (Wheater) and we need to continue and score goals.
“It is interesting and important when you create some opportunities, their goalkeeper made two saves but it’s football and we must accept it.
“We need concentration, application and to work and maybe we can win a lot of games.”
