To all Oldham Athletic supporters,
Firstly, this statement is to formally introduce myself as the Managing Director of Oldham Athletic, I have been at the club for three months now and I feel as I’ve settled in, it is now time to give an update on my role.
When I came to the club my first job was to ensure there was a clear vision within the staff of Oldham Athletic and just to put some structure in place to ensure everybody knows their role.
This has been an easy process because the staff here are all hard-working and a committed workforce to make sure this club runs as smoothly as it can do.
Overall, it is quite a young backroom staff with a few more experienced heads around, sometimes we don’t get everything right as staff, but it’s always important to learn from mistakes and continue to improve whatever the role may be.
These first three months have allowed me to see how everybody works on a daily basis and create clear objectives for the staff and build up some stability on that front.
Following this, I have then met with key stakeholders and sponsors who are involved with the club as well as creating new partnerships such as the one with Maggies’.
The club believe that we must start working with local businesses in order to create a feel-good factor not only in the Football Club but with the town in general.
I believe there has been a lot of improvements within the club since I came in, the team are improving each week and everyone within the club is focused and they all have a strong desire to be successful.
In the near future, we are going to launch our vision ‘One Club One Town’ and I hope it will enable a strong connection between the club, the town and its supporters.
