Latics will host Carlisle United in the opening round of the 2020/21 Carabao Cup on Saturday 5 September (3pm kick-off).
The fixture will be the first official competitive game of the 2020/21 season.
Harry Kewell's side will play behind-closed-doors against the Cumbrians at Boundary Park as both teams look to make a positive start by reaching the second round.
