An update regarding the fixture at the weekend which was due to be the designated test event.
Unfortunately, due to Blackpool's involvement in the Carabao Cup and their tie against Stoke City being rescheduled, the game between both teams at Boundary Park on Saturday 29 August is now cancelled.
This is because of the international break the week after where Stoke City will be affected, meaning the EFL allowed the cup fixture to be pushed forward a week to prevent a fixture backlog.
The original game would've had match updates and coverage as we prepare for the start of the new season, but these plans have now been put on hold as the club looks for a replacement fixture at the weekend at short notice.
Plans are in place this week and next to have more training games with post-match content provided when possible.
Oldham Athletic would like to make it clear that all fixtures are strictly behind closed doors with spectators not being allowed entry.
Extensive guidelines are in place for the safety of officials and players whilst the events are taking place.
It is important you do not travel or attempt to visit any of the venues over the next few weeks, especially with the new local restrictions in place.
