Oldham Athletic is delighted to be giving its backing to The Virtual Tavern along with sponsors of the club, Identity FS, ahead of the next event on Wednesday 16 December.
The Virtual Tavern have been keeping the people of Oldham and around the world entertained with music, comedy, quiz nights and a number of virtual pub based events throughout the pandemic. They also give people a platform to ‘meet’ and socialise through some of the most difficult of times.
The main focus of the virtual hub is the Facebook group, The Virtual Tavern as well as the off-shoot, The Tavern Sports Bar.
Landlord, Neil Greenwood and Landlady, Lorraine Robinson said; "It is such an exciting and proud moment for an amazing local club like Oldham Athletic to recognise what we are doing here at The Virtual Tavern and want to be onboard supporting us. Both ourselves and the club have such a big focus on community and it feels like a great fit to be collaborating with them."
Whilst Latics’ Business Development Manager, Jamie Stoddart added; "I have seen and talked about The Virtual Tavern from afar over the last few months and both myself and the club are delighted to lend our support to the cause.
"I am usually the one asking for sponsorship and support but when I was approached by Andrew (Identity FS) about The Virtual Tavern, I jumped at the chance to be able to associate the club with such a vibrant, fast growing virtual community. Neil and Lorraine have created something quite remarkable and it’s fantastic for Oldham Athletic to align with such a worthwhile initiative."
