Oldham Athletic Community Trust have provided their partner schools network with up to £5,000 worth of sports equipment as part of their Christmas Giveback initiative.
Already £2,480 worth of equipment has been gifted in December alone.
Martin Vose, OACT Head of Community, commented: "The equipment packs provided to our partner schools are our small way of saying thank you for the incredible support received, especially during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. An incredible amount of additional pressures have been placed on schools and we hugely appreciate all that they do, not only for us as a trust, but for our communities as a whole.
"I would also like to thank the EFL Trust, PFA and Sports Direct for their partnership to enable such an incredible initiative to be made possible."
The equipment has been very kindly donated by sports retailer Sports Direct in partnership with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA).
The PFA entered into a three-year Sports Equipment partnership with Sports Direct in 2019, with the company delivering the sports equipment packs who are the official 'Community Equipment' sponsor of the PFA.
Local schools that received the packs are:
Blackshaw Lane, Horton Mill, Willowpark, Woodlands, Royton Hall, St Annes Denton, St Annes Royton, Fir bank, Hey With Zion, Canon Burrows, Westwood, Werneth, St Pauls, Holy Family, St Theresa & Newman College.
