Trust Oldham Continue Support For Academy

4 December 2020

The Youth Team would like to take the opportunity to personally thank Trust Oldham and its members for the recent financial backing.

Ahead of their preparation last weekend with a trip up to Carlisle in the EFL Youth Alliance, the money recently donated by Trust Oldham and its members has helped towards the cost of travel alongside additional equipment and kit.

After a review of the PlayerShare scheme by the Trust over the last twelve months, it has been offering direct financial assistance to the next generation.

At the start of November the Trust Board and previous PlayerShare committee made the decision that the focus would be switched towards the Youth Team after consulting its members through a vote.

Since then the partnership has been formalised and Head of Academy, Paul Murray is pleased with the offer of help from the supporters.

"As an Academy we are extremly happy to link-up with Trust Oldham and the PlayerShare scheme to assist the Youth Team with training equipment and additional support.

"PlayerShare and Trust Oldham can provide direct help for the next generation of future First Team players from the Academy. These can hopefully follow players like James Tarkowski, Tom Hamer, Zak Emmerson and come straight into the Latics setup to benefit the town and team.

"We look forward to working with the supporters more and want to say thank you for the help so early on as well."

Moving forwards Trust Oldham is looking to give the scheme a new name and appoint a committee of volunteers.
