A Trip Down Sheepfoot Lane - Neil Redfearn, Andy Barlow & Ian Liversedge

3 June 2020

On this week's episode of 'A Trip Down Sheepfoot Lane', Roy Butterworth will be joined by Neil Redfearn, Andy Barlow and Ian Liversedge.

These lads know each other very well after good experiences at Latics throughout the 'glory years' and reminiscing on the famous game against Sheffield Wednesday in 1991 as Joe Royle's side secured the Second Division title.

The main guest is Neil Redfearn, he played a major role throughout the 1990/91 season and was the man that kept his cool from the spot to score the all-important winner against Sheffield Wednesday. The midfielder also started in the classic FA Cup semi-final and replay against Manchester United. Overall, he made 74 appearances for the club.

Another legend will join in, as Andy Barlow talks through his memories at Boundary Park. Born in the town itself, he grew up supporting Latics and came through the youth ranks at the club. Impressively, Barlow went onto make 308 appearances in an eleven-year spell and, during his time, represented Oldham Athletic at the old Wembley Stadium in 1990 against Nottingham Forest in the Littlewoods Cup Final.

Ian Liversedge (Sos) is the final guest this week as we look back at his spell behind the scenes. Liversedge served the club as the physio under Joe Royle and has gone onto have a fine career in football as well as within that profession. He was also involved in the great times at Boundary Park and proved to be a great character witnessing first-hand those memorable moments away from the cameras.

If you want to ask any of the guests something, please email it to natalie.atkinson@oldhamathletic.co.uk and roy.butterworth@yahoo.co.uk. The deadline to submit your questions is this evening, Wednesday 3 June at 8pm.

This will be available to watch on the club's YouTube channel (OfficialOAFC) on Saturday at 3pm.
