The Crusade to the Promised Land

9 March 2020

Dave Moore and Rick Holden are joining forces again to write a new book and want Latics fans to provide their memories of the 1990/91 championship winning season.

As everyone looks forward to remembering 125 years of history, one of the most notable seasons is being focused on in a new publication.

Dave Moore and 'Tricky Ricky' (Holden) are back together to pen another popular book titled 'The Crusade to the Promised Land' and will follow every game of the 1990/91 season.

Beginning with the unforgettable first match which resulted in a 3-2 victory at Wolves when 'Marshy' got a hat-trick, to the stand out matches of Ipswich away when promotion was clinched and obviously the Sheffield Wednesday fixture on the day the championship was won.

The pair are hoping to have the book available for the start of the 2020/21 season which would coincide with the 30th anniversary as well.

As part of this, they are looking for contributions from fans who were lucky enough to witness first-hand the campaign. These will be in the form of small anecdotes which can be about the team, players, opposition or personal experiences that were encountered throughout that amazing season, as all will agree each match was special in its own way.

All supporters who contribute and have their stories accepted and printed will be acknowledged in the book as well as receiving a complimentary copy signed by Rick and Dave.

Please send your stories to info@wibblepublishing.com along with your real name or an alias if you prefer anonymity.

Details of all the games can be found by clicking here.
