Oldham Athletic is pleased to announce the signing of central defender Kyle Jameson on a one-year deal with an option for the club to extend.
The left-sided centre-back has completed a deal with Latics after also spending time on trial in August with Harry Kewell’s side ahead of the new season following his departure from AFC Fylde this summer.
Whilst playing for the Coasters, Jameson managed to make 21 appearances and prior to his time with Fylde he enjoyed a loan spell with Barrow and featured 25 times, scoring once in what would be his first taste of senior football where he impressed.
The 21-year-old began his career with Southport and the Liverpool County team before being picked up by Premier League side Chelsea. In 2017, West Bromwich Albion swooped in for his signature after seeing potential in the powerful defender.
Jameson is delighted to be at Boundary Park; "I'm really buzzing to be here and happy to get my future sorted now.
"I'm a defender that likes to play out from the back with the ball and I've had a good few weeks training with my new teammates.
"This is a really good opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Football League, so I just can't wait for the season to start."
Jameson’s official shirt number will be announced later this week along with the rest of the squad.
Welcome to Latics, Kyle!
