Oldham Athletic currently have four vacancies available within the Category 3 Licenced Academy programme.
The club would first like to thank two long serving goalkeeping coaches who have recently decided to move on.
Nigel Hampson can no longer carry out the role due to work commitments clashing with the Academy schedule and Andy Rohman will step down as Head of Goalkeeping after the opportunity has arisen to go back into men's football, working at Radcliffe FC with their first-team.
Nigel has been with the Academy for around 22 years, working throughout the FDP and YDP phases. Nigel also spent a season as the Youth Team Goalkeeper Coach, taking sessions during the day as well as games on a weekend. During his time Nigel also spent a period as Shop Manager in the football club.
Whilst, Andy has been with the Academy for seven years coming in as Head of Goalkeeping, taking the FDP and YDP in the evenings as well as working with the Youth Team for their games.
Interim Academy Manager, Conor Marlin commented; "I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to both guys for their service to the club. Nigel has been here for over 20 years which is an amazing contribution, he is the life and soul of the environment and culture here and he will be sorely missed.
"Andy has led the goalkeeping department for a number of years, providing great support to the coaches and players. Andy will still be involved as and when he can, so we will still have his experience to count upon.
"It's hard though to beat the feeling of competing for three points on a Saturday when it really matters. Like all our staff we want to help them develop and progress, it’s a good opportunity for Andy and we wish him well.
"As one door closes and another opens as we look forward to welcoming two new coaches into our Academy goalkeeping department to work with our new scholars."
As a result the Academy are actively recruiting for the following roles, with the Head of Academy now publicly advertised after the departure of Paul Murray last month.
