The club will host Wigan Athletic in Round Three (Last 16) of the Papa John's Trophy.
The draw was made live on Sky Sports again on Saturday afternoon, with the tie between the two Latics' sides drawn out last in the Northern section.
Further match details will be confirmed in due course but the fixture is due to take place on the week commencing 3rd January 2022.
Wigan beat Accrington on penalties 5-4 after a 1-1 draw in the Round of 32, qualifying for the knockout rounds by finishing second in Group C. Both teams have already met this season at Boundary Park as well in a pre-season friendly back in July.
