To encourage people to get out and exercise locally again, Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) have relaunched the 'Where’s Chaddy' initiative!
Back in November 2020, during tougher Covid-19 restrictions, Oldham Athletic Community Trust launched the ‘Where’s Chaddy’ initiative which involves Chaddy the Owl stickers being hidden around local parks for you to find whilst enjoying what Oldham has to offer.
To encourage people to get out and go for a walk at the start of 2022, they have relaunched the initiative with some new parks being included. Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. It helps boost your mood because it increases blood flow and blood circulation to the brain and body. Whilst physical exercise combined with positive social interactions can improve negative moods, ward off depression, and improve self-esteem.
A brisk 10-minute daily walk has lots of health benefits and counts towards your recommended 150 minutes of weekly exercise. You can read more about walking for your health on the NHS website by visiting: www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/walking-for-health/
There are 15 stickers to find in total across three parks with five stickers being hidden in each park. The parks include Alexandra Park, Foxdenton Hall Park and Tandle Hill Country Park.
All you have to do is tweet @OfficialOACT with selfies/pictures of you and the Chaddy stickers you have found along with the hashtag: #WheresChaddy to potentially win a prize!
