Dearnley Departs

27 January 2022

Oldham Athletic can confirm that Zak Dearnley’s contract has been terminated by mutual consent so he can continue his football elsewhere.

Initially, the frontman joined Latics on loan in January 2019 and made an instant impact on his debut as he found the back of the net against Crawley Town in Sky Bet League Two.

Dearnley returned to the club on a permanent deal in the following campaign, he went on to score four goals in eight appearances before the pandemic put a halt to the season in an abrupt manner.

Since then, the 23-year-old has featured on 38 occasions and fired ten goals across the past two seasons, including a last-minute winner away at Bolton Wanderers.

Both parties have agreed to the termination of his contract with the attacker expected to join a National League club in due course.

The club would like to thank Zak for his time whilst at Latics, overall featuring on 55 occasions and scoring 15 goals, and would also like to wish him well in his future career.
