Lifelong Oldham Athletic supporter John Connelly has been raising funds to support Oldham Athletic Community Trust’s winter appeals.
John will finish his mammoth 30-day fundraiser this Saturday, completing a run of 200 miles across 30 days. All money raised will be donated for the community of Oldham which will be split three ways.

The 200-mile distance is equivalent between John’s home in Thetford and Boundary Park.
By running seven miles per day over the 30 days from Friday 28 October to Saturday 26 November.
Originally the Dagenham and Redbridge fixture was meant to be a collection and celebration for Johns Fundraiser, which has now been moved to the Torquay Fixture on the 11 December.
To extend the fundraiser, John will run a ‘Foodbank Marathon’ on Sunday 11 December before the home game against Torquay with the timetable as follows:
- 00am – 9.30am Oldham Foodbank to Rochdale Foodbank = 9 Miles
- 45am – 10.45am Rochdale to Middleton Foodbank = 7 Miles
- 00am – 11.30am Middleton to Manchester (Harpurhey) Foodbank = 3.3 Miles
- 45.am – 1.15pm Manchester to Oldham Athletic = 6.3 Miles
John will then be at the game to celebrate his achievements, with bucket collectors around the ground to add to his fundraiser!
