Conor Carty Joins On Loan From Bolton

21 October 2022

Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Conor Carty on loan from Bolton Wanderers.

Carty joins Latics on a one-month youth loan, having joined Bolton in the summer following a 5-year stay at Wolves.

“He’s a great young player who’s got an eye for goal, and a very powerful left foot." said Unsworth.

“I’ve watched him play and he comes recommended by a lot of people and he’s a great lad which is important too.

“He’s here for a month, so that gives us a great opportunity to look at him, hopefully he can impress and we can extend the deal.”

Conor was spotted playing for St Patrick's Athletic in his native Ireland, and was snapped up by Wolves when he was 14.

After working his way through the ranks at Molineux, he joined the U18s squad and found the net on six occasions in 15 U18 Premier League games during the 2019/20 season.

The 20-year-old then made the step up to Premier League 2, playing two seasons in the division for Wolves before departing for Bolton this summer.

He’s been a regular for Bolton’s B team this season, and scored a last minute equaliser on his first-team debut against Tranmere in September.

Conor will wear the number 25 shirt, and a video interview will follow shortly.

Welcome to Latics, Conor!
