We are pleased to confirm that David Okagbue’s loan from Stoke City has been extended until 8 January.
Okagbue, who initially joined Latics earlier this month on a short-term deal, will now remain at Boundary Park until the new year.
Showing maturity beyond his 18 years, the central defender has impressed during his three appearances for Latics since making his debut against Chesterfield.
Okagbue missed last week’s game at Bromley after being called up to the Ireland U19 squad for their three European Under-19 Championship Qualifiers in Wales. He is now available for selection for this weekend’s visit of Wrexham.
Having been a regular in Stoke’s U18 side and captained the side on a number of occasions, Okagbue was given a taste of U23s football towards the back end of the campaign before featuring their Premier League 2 side.
