VACANCY: Academy Manager

Oldham Athletic AFC is looking to recruit an Academy Manager for its Category 3 FA Licenced Academy programme.

It is a family club, playing in the National League, which works closely with the local community. We are continuously looking to build on present links and develop further opportunities to encourage individuals and groups to engage in the Club’s activities.

We require an experienced individual with strong leadership, organisational and people managements skills who is keen to deliver a positive and successful Football Academy.

This is a full-time vacancy, available for immediate start, with competitive salary, based at Boundary Park, Oldham OL1 2PA.

The Head of Academy will also be required to:

  • Design, implement and manage an Academy playing philosophy, coaching philosophy and coaching curriculum in line with the Club’s professional playing requirements.
  • Draw up, implement and monitor an Academy Performance Plan (APP) incorporating performance targets.
  • Ensure effective use of the Performance Management Application (PMA) and Performance Clocks, including the recording of all relevant data.
  • Be the line manager the functional Heads of Academy, namely: Education, Player Care, Administration, Recruitment, Coaching and Sports Science & Medicine
  • Liaise with the First Team staff as required.
  • Deliver a culture of elite performance throughout the Academy.
  • Ensure that the Academy budget is defined, monitored and met.
  • Ensure that all the Club’s policies are adhered to in all aspects of the Academy operations and aspirations and meet mandatory FA/EFL requirements.
  • Be personally competent and experienced in the use of IT as associated with EPPP requirements.
  • Have a background and proven track record in EPPP youth football development and have the right qualifications, experience, and achievements.

STATEMENT

To ensure compliance with the company’s safeguarding policy a relevant FA DBS certificate will be a requirement for this role before starting work.
