Foodbank Collection This Saturday

24 April 2023

Oldham Athletic, along with Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) are delighted to once again show their support to Oldham Foodbank with one final matchday collection of the current season.

The foodbank, which delivers food directly to people’s homes, has already fed more than 10,000 individuals this year. It is now appealing for additional help as donations have dried up with the cost of living crisis, yet demand has soared.

The matchday collections demonstrate the continued commitment to Oldham Foodbank and the importance of the football club supporting those most in need within our local communities. Across the season several food collection initiatives, including both matchday & non-matchday activities, and have seen thousands of food items donated directly to Oldham Foodbank.

Prior to kick-off at the Bromley fixture this weekend, supporters are once again kindly invited to make donations of food and essentials in order to help those in need within our community. In addition, QR codes are visible at all collection points should supporters wish to make a financial contribution with the proceeds being directly used to purchase food items.

For anyone wishing to contribute digitally you can donate through supported giving to Oldham Athletic Community Trust with all funds received going towards the collection. You can donate by clicking the link HERE.

There will one donation point for the final collection of the season, which will be located within the Club Shop. Food items are able to be donated from Wednesday.

Martin Vose, OACT Head of Community, said: "Firstly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the collections this season. The amount of food & toys which we have been able to collect, and then donate, is simply incredible.

"I appreciate that the current cost of living crisis is affecting everyone in some way, however anything big or small that is donated will be greatly received by Oldham Foodbank and those who receive emergency food parcels from them – for many it is a real lifeline."
