Loan Watch 2023/24

24 August 2023

Latics currently have six players out on loan, including a number of youngsters who are gaining valuable first team experience as part of their continued development.

Kofi Moore has made a bright start to life in a Workington shirt, scoring a goal against Radcliffe in the Northern Premier League earlier this week.

Moore hit the target in impressive fashion, firing a great strike into the bottom left corner after turning neatly on the edge of the area.

Having signed a professional contract with Latics in the summer, the 18-year-old attacker signed on loan for the Reds in July. Moore also scored in a friendly against Whitley Bay.

Jake Forshaw has embarked on a loan spell to Colne in the North West Counties Premier Division, and has made an impressive start, with two goals and an assist. One coming in a friendly against Steeton and another in a 4-0 win over Squires Gate in the league.

Both Frazer Cookson and Llyton Chapman were loaned out to Midland Premier Division side Northwich, whose league campaign is yet to begin.

Benny Couto made his way to the Welsh Premier League to play for TNS, featuring on the bench against Ponty United.

Jordan Windass has been the final player to be loaned out so far, going to Darlington and scoring a free-kick in a friendly against Aycliffe.
