Club chairman, Frank Rothwell, has now officially set off on his row across the Atlantic Ocean!
Frank set off from the Canary Islands this morning, and will have to endure 3,000 miles of Atlantic waves before arriving at the finish line in Antigua.
It’s the second time Frank has rowed the Atlantic, having become the oldest person to row solo across the Atlantic back in 2021.
He raised over £1,000,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK, and with donations already approaching the £100,000 mark, Frank is optimistic about surpassing that milestone.
“We raised over one million last time, but I think with the support from the football fraternity we can do better than that this year," he said.
“I’m not scared of many things, but I am scared of Alzheimer’s, and that’s why I want to do everything I can to help find a cure.
“Please donate if you can, every penny makes a difference.
Thank you, and all the best, Frank!
