Shirt Auction - Over £12,000 Raised!

31 December 2023

A big thank you to everyone who submitted a bid for the shirts worn against Hartlepool on Saturday.

Bids for the full set of shirts totalled more than £12,000, with funds raised to support chairman Frank Rothwell's work for Alzheimer's Research UK.

The Latics team wore the Grape Vine-coloured third kit, complete with the Alzheimer’s Research UK logo.

The players' shirts were also be nameless, to highlight how people with dementia lose vital memories.

We’d like to thank principal partners, The RRG Group, for kindly donating their space on the front of Latics’ shirt for such a good cause.

Each shirt will also be signed by the player who wore it.

Bidding for individual shirts starts at £50, with postage costing £8 on top of that.

With bids opening at 7pm on Wednesday 27 December, supporters will have until 7pm on 31 December 2023 to submit their bids.

You can make your bids via this page.

It’s a great opportunity for supporters to back Frank’s efforts for such an important charity.

With Frank just over a quarter of his way through the challenge, there’s no better way to support him by partaking in one of the auctions.

We’re also hosting two other auctions to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The first will see the winner receive four tickets to join the squad in the players’ lounge at Boundary Park, where they’ll have lunch with Micky Mellon and the first team.

They’ll also receive a tour of the ground, be able to speak to the coaches and management, and have a range of photo opportunities.

The bidding for this prize will start at £200.

The second prize will see two people attend a training session at Chapel Road, receiving a unique perspective of Mellon’s side as they prepare for a fixture.

You’ll be able to speak to the manager before and after the session, with photo opportunities available with the players.

The bidding for this prize will start at £100.

Bids for these, or any of the other auctions can be made via this page.

Frank has kept going through thick and thin over the past two weeks, and is making great progress across the Atlantic.

With an expected finish time of late January or early February, there’s still plenty of time to donate via Frank’s Just Giving page.
