Vaughan Joins Hull City

31 January 2023

Oldham Athletic can confirm that Harry Vaughan has completed a transfer to Hull City.

The 18-year-old product of the Latics academy moves to the Sky Bet Championship side after an agreement was reached between the clubs for a transfer on undisclosed terms.

Vaughan made his first-team debut in February 2021, aged 16, making a total of 40 senior appearances and scoring two goals.

He completes his move following a recent trial period in East Yorkshire.

After the first year of his scholarship at Boundary Park, Harry signed a professional contract with Latics in June 2021 and continued to progress in the first-team environment.

He scored a memorable winning goal at Sunderland in the Papa John’s Trophy last year, adding to his first senior strike against Harrogate earlier in the campaign.

He has also received international recognition with Ireland at U18 and U19 level.

Manager David Unsworth said: “It’s a great opportunity for Harry, he really wanted to pursue this chance and everyone at the club wishes him well.

“Harry is one of our own, the deal is a great one for him and the club also benefits from it.

“I’ve got nothing but good words to say about Harry since I've been at the club. I really hope he’s successful with this move and everyone here wishes him well.”

As a club, we have all enjoyed watching Harry’s development during recent years and are sure he will continue his progress at Hull.

We’d like to thank him for always representing the club with great skill and enthusiasm as he has moved through the age groups and into the first team, and we all wish him the very best as he embarks on the next chapter in his career.
