Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Charlie Raglan on a two-year deal from League One side Cheltenham Town.
The 30-year-old is David Unsworth’s latest addition to the backline ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
The centre-back joins Latics having spent five years at Whaddon Road, winning the League Two title in 2020/21.

Born in Manchester, but growing up in Tenerife, Charlie spent time with a number of youth teams on the island, before returning to England to join the Port Vale youth team.
Having enjoyed spells with a host of semi-professional sides, he signed for Chesterfield in 2014, spending two years at the club, before joining Oxford United, initially on loan, making the move permanent in 2017.
Raglan made the switch to Cheltenham in 2018, kicking off a successful spell with the Robins, winning League Two and being part of the FA Cup run in 2021, where they were ultimately knocked out in the fourth round by Manchester City.
On joining Latics, Raglan said: “I’m delighted to get the deal done, I know that I’m joining a fantastic club and can’t wait to get going with pre-season.
“My conversations with the manager have shown that he’s really wanted me to come here. He spoke to me about the huge potential that there is here and that’s really exciting for me. His aims and ambitions are clear, and I’m delighted to be part of the plans.
”I’m a player who likes to defend first and foremost. I learnt a lot at Cheltenham, my previous club, and felt I improved a lot as a defender.
“What we achieved at Cheltenham showed that, with a certain mentality and spirit, anything is possible and I don’t see the same can’t be done here.”
