Oldham Athletic can confirm that Francis Jeffers has left the club in order to take up a coaching role in Saudi Arabia.
The former Arsenal and Everton centre-forward joined Latics as part of David Unsworth’s coaching team in September 2022, fulfilling the roles of first-team coach and B Team manager.
Manager, David Unsworth, praised the 42-year-old for his contributions over the past 9 months.
"It's a great opportunity for him as an individual to go and sample another culture and another league and I couldn't stand in his way.
“Franny's a good friend of mine. We've worked together a long time, he's a fabulous coach, he wants to improve and I'm sure he wants to become a manager in his own right at some point.
"This new role is a great opportunity for him, and we wish him well."
The club would like to thank Francis for all his work over the past few months, and wish him all the best in his new role.
