Oldham Athletic recorded their second victory of pre-season thanks to a first-half Mike Fondop brace.
Fondop opened the scoring within 10 minutes when he chased down a Curzon back-pass. He blocked Cameron Mason’s kick, deflecting it into the back of his own goal.
Fondop got his second with ten to go of the opening half, Reid played the ball to Mike as soon as he received it, and Mike made easy work of slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.
The hosts pulled a goal back through Stefan Mols with half-an-hour to go, but couldn’t muster up a second.
The Nash offered the first attack of the game, Alex Kenyon was denied by the underside of the crossbar within 90 seconds.
But it would Oldham who’d open the scoring, Mike Fondop closing down the goalkeeper, deflecting his kick into the back of the Curzon net.
Fondop looked to create a chance for Reid, with Alex’s shot from inside the area being blocked by the defence.
Reid would be involved in Latics’ second of the game. Dan Ward advanced forward with attacking intent, playing the ball off Reid for Fondop inside the area, and Mike made easy work of slotting the ball past the ‘keeper.
Mark Kitching showcased his excellent crossing ability, picking out Reid in the box, but Alex couldn’t divert the ball towards goal.
The second-half was different to the first, the attacking tempo of the first period was replaced by a more relaxed attitude.
Mols halved the deficit on the hour-mark following a scramble in the box, with him getting the last touch.
Half-time substitute, Joe Nuttall, tried his luck from outside the box, but his shot went inches wide of the post.
Ben Tollitt was the next to have a go from outside the box, but he put too much power into his shot, and couldn’t keep it down.
Latics had a good chance just before the full-time whistle.
Kitching’s superb cross was headed back across goal from Nuttall, with Willoughby being a hair's breadth away from making contact and almost certainly scoring.
