Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce that Devarn Green has signed a contract extension with the club.
The winger has put pen to paper on a one-year extension, with the option of a further year.
Devarn joined Latics in February after a successful trial, signing a deal until the end of the season.
He wasted no time showcasing his talents on the wing, using his pace to beat defenders, and crossing ability to create chances.
The 26-year-old also chipped in with a few goals, scoring the winner against Chesterfield, in addition to strikes against Yeovil and his old club, Scunthorpe.
David Unsworth thinks there’s still more to come from the midfielder, adding that work in pre-season will be vital.
“The minute Devarn walked through the door, we got on like a house on fire.
“I think he has found a home here at Oldham Athletic, he’s played for a few clubs recently, but I think this is his spiritual home.
“There’s no one quicker than him in the league, and I think there’s still another 20% or 30% we can get out of him, which I think we will.
“I can’t wait to get my hands on him in pre-season, really work with him, and nail down exactly what I want out of him.”
Devarn was ecstatic to get the deal agreed, and can’t wait for the season to start.
“I’m really happy to have signed on for another year, I’ve enjoyed my first few months at the club, I’ve settled in really well, and want it to continue.
“I’ve already scored a few goals against Chesterfield, Yeovil and Scunthorpe, I want to continue that next season, as well as creating a lot of chances from the wing.
“I just want pre-season to start now, I’ve been keeping myself ticking over, but I’m desperate to get back out there.”
Congratulations, Devarn!
