Supporting Her Game Too

3 March 2023

Tomorrow’s fixture against Boreham Wood is dedicated to the work of Her Game Too.

The game takes place ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March and following the recent one-year anniversary of the campaign being adopted by Latics.

Her Game Too works across football to promote an ethos within the game to ensure women are welcomed and respected equally.

Here at Latics, our team is now made up of six passionate advocates who are dedicated to supporting the club and the Her Game Too initiative, with lead ambassador Alison Schofield, alongside advocates Dawn Marsden, Andrea Wilkes, Kerry, Sammy Dixon and Lauren Parry.

Some of the campaign’s early initiatives include posters around the ground detailing how to report any sexist abuse and a visible presence on the LED boards around the ground and the provision of free sanitary products.

The Latics players will be warming up ahead of the game in dedicated Her Game Too t-shirts.

Throughout the month, tickets for a raffle will be available in the Club Shop for £2 per strip, with the prize of a signed home shirt and Hero Game Too bucket hat.

More details on the Her Game Too campaign at Latics feature in tomorrow’s programme and more details about their work can be found at hergametoo.co.uk/oldhamathletic.
