Latics return to Boundary Park today for the first match since the purchase of the stadium by the club.
It promises to be a great occasion, with Solihull Moors the visitors for the match between two teams who have been in good form of late.
David Unsworth’s side return after two matches on the road and on the back of a win against Woking last time at home.
The opposition
Solihull currently sit ninth in the National League, two places and seven points adrift of the play-off places.
Having started the season well, they slipped down the table but recent results have put them back in contention of a top seven finish.
A run of four straight wins, all of which have come at home, means they come into this fixture as one of the division’s form teams.
The Moors’ last six
Solihull 2-0 Boreham Wood
Solihull 3-1 Scunthorpe
Solihull 3-2 Torquay
Solihull 2-0 Maidstone
Altrincham 1-4 Solihull
Halifax 1-1 Solihull
Watch out for
With ten goals so far this season, Joe Sbarra is Solihull’s leading goalscorer and carries a big threat.
A former academy scholar at Burton Albion, the attacking midfielder has impressed since joining Solihull two seasons ago.
He played 70 games for Burton before netting 17 for Solihull last term.
In the dugout
Neal Ardley led the Moors to the play-off final last season after finishing in third place.
He began his managerial career with Wimbledon, the club at which he spent the most impressive spell of his playing career.
Having guided them to survival, he led the Dons to promotion to League Two before joining Notts County but was unable to take them out of the National League despite a number of play-off assaults.
Match officials
The man in the middle is Michael Barlow, with David Hunt and Wayne Cooper taking up the lines. Aaron Hallam is the fourth official.
