Latics 1-4 Ebbsfleet

25 November 2023

Oldham Athletic fell to defeat against Ebbsfleet at Boundary Park.

The visitors opened the scoring after nine minutes, following a nice passing move, before James Norwood equalised from the spot in the second-half.

Latics pushed for a winner, but in the last ten minutes, conceded three late goals, meaning Ebbsfleet left with the points.

Ebbsfleet kicked-off, but Oldham attacked as soon as they dispossessed them, with Fondop nodding the ball on for Norwood, who gave the ball to Green.

Devarn put a cross in, looking for Gardner, but Ebbsfleet intercepted it and cleared.

Fleet took the lead when Cundle was on the end of a good passing move, advancing into the box and tapping the ball past Hudson.

Norwood had two golden chances within seconds of each other to equalise, his first shot from a few yards out was parried, with his followup being tipped over the bar.

Willoughby came on in place of Gardner during the break, with Hope and Hogan replacing Fondop and Freeman just before the hour-mark.

Athletic won a penalty when an Ebbsfleet was judged to have handled Hope’s shot inside the area, and Norwood made no mistake from the spot, tapping home from 12 yards.

Ebbsfleet took the lead again through Dominic Poleon, before Nathan Odokonyero and Dominic Samuel added to their lead.

Oldham: Hudson, Kitching, Lundstram, Fondop (Hope, 59’), Sheron, Green, Raglan, McGahey, Gardner (Willoughby, 45’), Freeman (Hogan, 60’), Norwood
