Loan Watch 2023/24

6 October 2023

Latics have a handful of youngsters out on loan, gaining valuable experience as part of their continued development.

Jake Forshaw - Farsley Celtic

Joining National League North side Farsley Celtic last month, after spending time on loan at Colne earlier this season, Jake has made three appearances for the West Yorkshire side, making his debut as a substitute during their defeat to Blyth Spartans.

He made his full debut the following Saturday, helping Celtic to a 1-0 win over Gloucester, before playing 66 minutes of their match against Banbury.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet in any of the games, Jake has been praised for his work rate and consistent performances.

Kofi Moore - Workington

Kofi has continued to be a regular in Workington’s starting XI, and has now taken his tally of goals for the season to five, following two strikes against Basford.

His first was a beautifully struck half-volley, finding the top corner from just outside the box, whilst his second came as he ran onto a long-ball, beat the defender for pace, before easily slotting the ball past the ‘keeper at his near post.

Benny Couto - Ashton United

Benny joined Ashton United at the end of last month, and has wasted no time getting appearances in for the Tameside outfit.

He’s donned the red of the Robins four times so far, coming out on top on all four occasions, including once in the FA Cup against Lancaster City.

On his home debut, he played an instrumental part in Ashton’s opening goal, playing a beautiful diagonal ball from left-back to find Ashton’s winger on the right, he found their centre-forward in the middle to tap home.

Llyton Chapman - Chadderton

Having joined Northwich at the start of the campaign, Llyton will now link up with Chadderton of the NWCFL Premier Division.

Promoted from Division One North last season, Chaddy are currently 7th in the league, two places outside the play-offs.

Chadderton visit Ramsbottom United tomorrow, with Llyton eligible to play.

Frazer Cookson - Northwich Victoria

Frazer has remained a regular at the back for Northwich over the past four weeks, but has also shown his potency in front of goal. With Vics a goal down in eight minute of stoppage time at the end of the second half, they swung in a corner, Frazer steamed into the box, powering home a header to rescue a point.

Jordan Windass - Darlington

Jordan has only made one appearance since his debut for Darlington back in August. He played 14 minutes of their most recent game, a 1-1 draw with Gloucester.
