Yesterday, the club hosted its second Ramadan Iftar Event in the Broadway Suite.
Following on from last year's successful showing, various members of the local community and delegates of the Oldham Athletic board were in attendance to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Deputy Mayor Councillor Eddie Moores, Club CEO, Darren Royle, as well as Chairman Frank Rothwell and his wife, Judith attended the evening.
The evening started with a series of prayers outside, before the guests returned to the Broadway Suite inside the Joe Royle Stand.
At sunset, the fast during Ramadan was broken with Iftar, starting with fresh dates before moving onto a feast of traditional foods.
Iftar is a communal affair, with observers bringing share food and buffet dishes including salads, halal meats, rice and sweet pastries.
Guests were able to enjoy delicious food courtesy of the event's sponsors.
“To be able to host our second Iftar event at Oldham Athletic was very special," said chairman, Frank Rothwell.
“Bringing members of our local community together is something we are very keen to do and this was an important occasion for us.
“We want Boundary Park to be a place which is welcoming for everyone and I’d like to thank all those who worked so hard to make this event such a success.”
