Latics pick up their third win on the spin after a comfortable 3-0 win on the road against Cheltenham Town.
Goals from Will Sutton, Luke Hannant and Joe Quigley rounded off a dominant display and signalled three points for Latics.
Sutton got the opener on 39 minutes, when good work from Donervon Daniels allowed the ball to fall at the feet of the defender who fired home.
Hannant doubled the scoring with a well placed penalty in the second-half before Quigley rounded off the win with a last minute effort, being in the right place at the right time.
The first chance of the game came Latics’ way, Michael Mellon's curling effort inside the area came back off the post.
Minutes later, Mike Fondop played the ball to Tom Pett's feet who had a go, but he dragged his effort wide.
The hosts’ first chance came on 20 minutes, Isaac Hutchinson let fly from distance, but Mat Hudson wasn't troubled.
Hutchinson was involved a minute later also, his free-kick from distance went wide of the post.
The hosts were looking for a way back into the game, Ethon Archer cut in from the left and had a go at goal, but his curling effort was straight into the hands of Hudson.
Latics however were looking confident, Tom Conlon slipped in Luke Hannant who had space in the area to shoot, but his effort came back off the post once again for Latics.
The opening goal of the game came on 40 minutes, fantastic play from Ryan Woods and Conlon in the corner, allowed the ball to come to Daniels who drove into the area and crossed. The clearance fell to the feet of Will Sutton who buried his chance and gave Latics the lead.
Latics started the second half as they ended the first, after a succession of Latics corners, substitute Joe Quigley headed into a dangerous area but nobody was there to get on the end of it.
Mellon's free-kick on 70 minutes was into the wall, and then on the re-bounded effort Pett's effort was held by Day at the second attempt.
At the other hand a great fingertip save from Hudson denied Arkell Jude-Boyd after his strike looked to be heading into the bottom left hand corner.
With 75 on the clock Latics got what they felt like they deserved. Daniels was dragged back in the area and the referee pointed to the spot with no hesitation. Up stepped Hannant who sent Day the wrong way and doubled Latics’ advantage.
Subsititute Kai Payne had a couple of late efforts that strayed just wide of Day’s post but Latics looked comfortable and good value for their lead.
It was a three goal cushion on 90 minutes, Pett had a go from distance, he saw his effort spilled by Day but there was Quigley to fire home and pile the misery on the hosts’
After 10 minutes of additional time the referee sounded his whistle to send Latics home happy and make it three wins on the spin.
