Oldham Athletic travel to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Doncaster Rovers tomorrow afternoon, 3pm kick off.

Latics head into the game on the back of two wins in all competitions.

Tope Obadeyi’s only goal of the game secured a passage through to the third round of the Checkatrade Trophy, setting up a third round tie against Leicester City under 21s.

Attention turned back to the league last week and Athletic smashed five past Northampton Town to record their highest victory of the season so far.

Jack Byrne netted twice and further goals from Obadeyi, Gevaro Nepomuceno and Craig Davies secured Latics three points.

Richie Wellens takes his Latics side to the Keepmoat Stadium to face Doncaster Rovers, the team he served for a number of years. He will be looking to get one over his old side this weekend.

Doncaster head into the game in 18th position, three points behind Latics.

A victory could, however, take Latics up to ninth position in the table, but a defeat could see them drop, showing how tight the division is.

Speaking ahead of the game, manager Richie Wellens said: “The next game is the most important game and that is Doncaster. It is important that we put on a performance to try and get us the three points.

“It’s a club I know well and I’ve played with some of their players and manager.

“It’s a good club and it should be a Championship club with the facilities that they have got.

“They will be looking at this playing a team around us so it’s important that we don’t lose the game.

“The form that we are in, and the fact we are scoring goals, we will be trying to get the three points.”

Ryan McLaughlin is back in contention to feature whilst Aaron Amadi-Holloway also returned from injury last weekend. There are no new injury worries ahead of this weekend’s game.

Gyamfi Kyeremeh remains out injured whilst Courtney Duffus continues his rehabilitation from a long injury.

Sky Bet have listed Athletic as underdogs for tomorrow’s match at 13/5 with the visitors 21/20 to win.
