MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Doncaster Rovers

27 April 2018

Oldham Athletic host Doncaster Rovers tomorrow afternoon (3pm kick off) knowing a win could give them a big lift in their fight to beat the drop.

A win tomorrow afternoon would take Athletic on to 51 points and pile the pressure on teams around them as we approach the business end of the season.

After the six game unbeaten run was ended on Tuesday night, Athletic will be hoping to put those wrongs right tomorrow afternoon.

Doncaster are without a win in three games and have lost two consecutive games.

Darren Ferguson’s side sit 14th in Sky Bet League One having picked up 54 points from their 43 games so far this season.

Speaking ahead of the game, manager Richie Wellens said: “The players are well aware (of the significance). Over the last six games people have been saying you must win this one, you must win that one so we are aware of it.

“Other clubs are going through the same scenario and we have players who have been through this before.

“In terms of me, I try and take the pressure off the players so it’s another game we have to win.

“Doncaster don’t really change their formation,” he commented. “They have got some good players; Marquis for me is one of the top three strikers in the league and he is a big threat.

“They have some technical midfield players who are good at this level so we will have to be tighter than we were on Tuesday night. We will have to do better on Saturday.”

Oldham Athletic have been priced at 21/20 to claim the three points tonight.
