Grant joined Latics on a season long loan deal from National League side Wrexham in August 2020.
The Liverpool born attacking midfielder began his career with Accrington Stanley and has since had permanent moves to Scunthorpe United, Rochdale, Blackpool and Fleetwood Town before ending up at the Racecourse Ground.
The 30-year old showcased his football pedigree by going out on loan to his first club Accrington in the second half of last season. He made 5 League One appearances, scoring one goal before the curtailment of the season.
Grant kicked off his Latics career in style, scoring 37 minutes into his debut to double his sides advantage over Carlisle United in the Carabao Cup.
