Blackwood joined Latics on a two-year deal in September 2020 after leaving Adelaide United.
In his time in Adelaide, Blackwood made 72 appearances, finding the back of the net on 16 occasions. His successes with the Reds include lifting the FFA Cup in 2018 and 2019.
The 23-year old started his career with Sydney FC and during his time with the club, they won the A-League.
He has also represented Australia at Under 20 and Under 23 level and can boast an impressive goal record at both age groups.
