The exciting winger signed his first professional contract with the club in May and Latics have the option to extend his deal by another year.
He is a Northern Ireland Under 19 international and scored on his debut for his country when they beat Kazakhstan 3-2 in their Euro qualifier last November at Shamrock Park.
Harry Robinson made his professional debut earlier in the year against Notts County and went on loan to Crusaders in Belfast until January 2020.
