Central defender James Carragher is currently on loan from Wigan Athletic.
The 19-year-old centre half, son of former Liverpool and England defender Jamie, arrived at Boundary Park on a deal until 1 January.
A young player who is regarded as a highly-promising prospect, Carragher was captain of the Wigan side which won the U18 Professional Development League two seasons ago.
He skippered the Academy team having progressed through the Academy at the DW Stadium during the previous four seasons.
The defender initially started out at Liverpool before joining Wigan as an U14, winning a number of competitions and playing a key role in the side which impressively reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup in 2020.
A player who has developed strong leadership skills and an excellent reading of the game, Carragher made his first-team debut in the EFL Cup last season and featured for the Sky Bet Championship side during pre-season.
