Academy graduate Joe Edwards signed a professional contract for the 2022/23 campaign after a number of successful seasons with the club.

Edwards, a talented attacking midfielder, committed his future to Latics as he turned pro having excelled in the youth team.
Alongside training with the senior players regularly last season, the 18-year-old is from the area after playing for Greater Manchester Schoolboys and studying at Royton & Crompton before his scholarship.
He was named in the squad for the trophy fixture against Leeds United U21 back in September and although still waiting for his debut was named on the teamsheet again a handful of times.
