Ryan Flynn is an experienced midfield player who joined Oldham Athletic from Sheffield United in 2016 after spending four seasons at Bramall Lane.

The midfielder started his career with Falkirk, before joining Liverpool for £50,000 in 2005.

Despite playing in successful a successful youth system, he failed to make the breakthrough at Anfield and he rejoined Falkirk in 2009.

He spent two years back in Scotland, scoring 13 goals in 77 appearances, and also made three appearances for Scotland under 19s.

Flynn joined Sheffield United in 2011 for an undisclosed fee and made himself a crowd favourite at Bramall Lane.

He was part of the squads which reached the semi final of the FA Cup in 2014 and the semi final of the League Cup in 2015.

After five years with the club, Flynn was released but there were plenty of clubs knocking on his door for his services.

He chose Oldham Athletic and signed a two-year deal in 2016.

He made an immediate impact, scoring on his home debut in the 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic.

He made 44 starts for Latics in his first season but will be looking to kick on in his second season with the club.
