The former La Liga striker netted one goal in five appearances for Latics last season and signed a new deal with the club in July 2019.
Vera scored his only goal for the club with a penalty in a 2-1 defeat against Macclesfield Town at Moss Rose.
The 32-year-old has previously had spells at Athletic Bilbao, Alcorcón and CFR Cluj. His most prolific spell in his career was with CD Mirandes and scored 17 goals in 38 appearances in the Segunda Division.
