Luamba signed a one-year contract with Latics after impressing in the Youth Team at Boundary Park.

The attacker was handed his full debut in December 2020 as he led the line at Grimsby Town, putting up a good physical battle against experienced defenders.

To add to this, he also made an influence off the bench in the victory against Exeter City at home with the striker coming close to getting on the scoresheet.

Luamba has since become a valuable asset in the current campaign which was exemplified when he netted his first professional goal in the 96th minute away at Sutton United to secure Latics' first points of the season.

Also, the 18-year-old scored a vital penalty in the shootout against Accrington Stanley in the Carabao Cup days before.

He's seen as a strong, physical striker that links up well with the midfield and is another successful product of the academy.
